[Guest Report] K-pop Night Concert @ Singapore Expo

Actual Event Date: 23rd October 2010

Hello folks ! This is my humble report on Korean Pop Night 2010.

Just a little introduction on myself. I'm just a guest writer on this blog to cover for my fellow friend, RedPincers. Will be joining him on the Dec Korea Winter Trip as mentioned earlier. Hopefully you will enjoy the pictures below :)

Korean fever has finally reach its peak on the 23/10/10. Every Kpop follower in Singapore either knew about this upcoming event or were raving about the upcoming excitement. Fanclubs of different groups were busy preparing to outpour their love to their respective idols.

Prior to the concert, Redpincers and myself decided to go down to Changi Airport to receive SNSD straight from their flight. Touchdown flight from Tokyo-Narita Airport to Changi Airport was at 1704hrs. Upon arriving at the airport, plenty of fans were already waiting at the luggage belt, hoping to catch a glimpse of them. But to our disappointment, the girls were ushered out through the VIP exits.

The night started off with an introduction from the MC team from Korea and Singapore. Following that, aspeech delivered by the Korean Ambassador for Korea Tourism and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr B G Yeo.

First boyband to kick off the night was no other than F.T Island. With their instruments all ready in hand, they kicked off with a powerful rock song titled , Bing Bing Bing. Getting the crowd pumped up with their wonderful instruments jamming it out loud. In total, F.T Island belted out 4 songs - I Hope, Flower Rock and their latest single, Love Love Love.

Second in line to perform was D.NA or known as the Boss. Three songs were performed - 비틀비틀 ,동경소년 and a last song which I am not too sure what the title is.

Third performance was ZE:A: Children of Empire. They, too performed three songs. Track list as followed, Mazeltov, 하루종일 (Leap for Detonation) and lastly, Level Up

Fourth group to perform was Infinity. They started off with a powerful dance routine to showcase their sleek moves. Two songs performance by this group - 다시 돌아와 and She's Back

Chaos was unleashed when the fifth group came up to perform. SHINEE. Literally all the fangirls in the concert hall just went berserk. Domino effects were in place as people start climbing on their seats to catch a better view of their idols and there was nothing that the security could do. They performed a total of three tracks - Replay, Ring Ding Dong and Lucifer

The next highlight, So Nyuh Shi Dae (Girls' Generation). Waves of pink lightsabre were swinging madly upon announcement of their performance. Fanboys scream's were practically heard throughout the entire hall. Now its the boy's turn to get all crazy and see their favourite girl group live in flesh (many fan girls were also high). Decked out in their sailor cap and blue marine outfit, they unleashed their first song, Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) with a powerful routine. Highlight of this song, Tiffany : “Singapore , PUT IT BACK ON”. With just this phrase, the fanboys' heart all set on fire and melted away.

Next song on the list was OH! Once again, the power of the Sones' lightsabre lit up the concert hall and chorus of people were singing along with them. I too admit that I was swinging my camera around while singing with them. Little gestures of fanservice were given throughout the song. What a way to end off this song with fanchats by Sones.

A short brief interview was done by the Emcees with SNSD. Jessica and Tiffany answered most of the questions with their superb crisp english. Sooyoung and SeoHyun too gave their replies in english.

Third song on the list was Run Devil Run. Power Fanchant from the starting of the song. Crisp routine delivered as expected.

As all good things must come to an end, they announced that its their last song. While preparing for their last song, the entire hall was chanting 'GEE GEE GEE GEE GEE GEE' till the music was played, instantly the crowd went wild. Without a doubt, they left us breathless and wanting for more. Hope to see you girls back in Singapore with a solo concert

Last band to perform that night was none other than Big Bang. They truly hyped up the concert to a higher level. Experienced concert performers sure know how to get the crowd pumped and excited. Even non-Big Bang fans were left amazed by their powerful, energetic act. What a way to wrap up the entire night.
First song on the list was Gara Gara Go! Second was Haru Haru (Acoustic version). Big Bang crooning away on high stools was not an expected sight. Third song was Lies. Fantastic song routine. Fourth Song was How Gee, a good rap battle between TOP and Gdragon. Fifth song was Number 1. Really got me dancing to the beat ! Sixth song was Last Farewell, another great single from them. Prior to the last song, the entire stage was dimmed and flashing spotlights were used. Last song by Big Bang was Hands Up. Big Bang managed to interact with the entire crowd and make good use of the stage space. Plenty of fanservice were given especially G-Dragon sitting at the edge of stage and interacting with the fans. TOP threw his sweaty towel to the crowd. Taeyang did his sexy hip dance moves which were just so HOT. Seungi gave his aegyo to the crowd and Daesung just keep smiling and waving. How awesome for this group to perform 7 of their best singles !

Everything good has to come to an end. The last act of the Korean Pop Night was about promoting peace and harmony to the world through a song by MJ “Heal The World”. Each different group came out 1 by 1 and held hands while singing the song. After the a big thank you to the audience, the idols made their way back, stopping for some photoshots too.

It was truly a night unforgettable with some of the biggest acts performing together in one night. Personally, I felt that the best performance on that night would be from Big Bang. They truly know how to work the stage very well. Of course other bands did well too!

Hope you guys like my virgin report and pictures taken for the Korean Pop Night 2010. Credits to RedPincers for loaning his lens to me.
