Introduction

Klub Party as described by Colored Rhythms, is a Korean Pop club party that was introduced in January in 2010 - the first of its kinds in Singapore and arguably South-east Asia.

Founded by a duo with a common passion for Asian music, particularly Taiwanese and Korean Pop, Klub Party promises non-stop Korean Pop music which includes hit songs from the various groups and solo artistes such as SNSD, KARA, T-ara, B2ST, 2PM and 4Minute. Spun by award-winning DJ Funky T that has drawn not only Singaporeans but also friends from neighboring countries.

So if you are a fan of K-pop and above the age of 18, this is a series of events not to be missed! Do check out their official Facebook page for future parties.

Press Conference
Before the actual event, a press conference was conducted for the various media teams to ask them any questions they had for the group.

Q: With so many groups in Korea, how do you make yourself stand out from the others?
A: We are a musician-artiste-first so I guess that is our strength. We come with the music first. So the biggest difference is that we make our own songs so we show more color in us so we have the freedom of music One Way is all about the music itself. If you hear other groups and compare us, our sound is totally different.
Q: How about Image?
A: Sometimes we look very normal compared to other singers and half of that is just us being us - being free to choose. But when we do dress, we do dress nicely. And because of our hip-hop style of music, we try to put that style of flavor in the way we show ourselves to the media and fans out there. So I guess that makes us closer to the fans

Q: Where did you get your Inspiration from and is there any songs that you guys have made that has a special meaning to it?
A: It comes from everything! We are like story-tellers but we tend to write on something that actually happened. It has its ups and downs. From breakup songs to anythings like eating!

Q: What is the meaning of One Way?

A: One Way means three and it symbolizes music. We are traveling on a road that leads us to music that is all about our sounds. To put in simple, we three came from different places but we had that one goal and vision to do equal music.

Q: Who are your music influences?
Chance: My inspirations comes a lot from D’Angelo, Babyface and Neyo.
Young Sky: It’s weird because I started out with classical music so first i stared with Mozart. And then I got into hiphop , a totally different direction and started listening to producers, for example Pharrell and Timbaland
Peter: For me its Musiq Soulchild for song writing, the way he expresses his everyday life through his songs. And stage-presence-wise, I have to go with Michael Jackson.
Chance: And as a group, we listen to other groups in Korea such as Epik High, Drunker Tiger, Dynamic Duo. They’re musicians who stay true within the music and that’s what we’re trying to do.

Q: What song would your introduce to someone who wants to know about Oneway?
A: There is a song on our first EP and we made a sequel. It kinda really talks about random stuff but the whole music style is us. The song title is called called U Drag. And the one in our newest album is called called New Drag. So if you guys wanna know more about us, these are the 2 songs you should definitely listen to. It goes away from the mainstream K-pop style and that’s what we like! That raw acoustic OneWay sound! That's our sound.

Q: Who are some of the other artiste you want to work with?
Peter: I like working with female artistes! I’ve always liked her since her debut, and her name is IU, her vocal style and everything. she’s a very good and talented musician.
Chance: My respect to Brown Eyed Soul! We would like to work with them! Compared to them, we’re like babies, we’re just growing up. They’ve been through a longer and harder time in the music industry, and we would like to follow their tracks.
Sky: For me, because I’m a rapper so I would say Dynamic Duo. Right now personal opinion, I think they’re the best rappers in Korea!

Q: Are there any special things that you collect?
Chance: Shoes!
Young Sky: For me I'm an animation freak so I collect plastic models like Gundams.
Peter: We collect a lot of CDs
Chance: and old media equipments that brings back the retro sounds.

Q: How did you guys get together to form OneWay?
Sky: I went to Australia and went to middle school with Peter. Then I moved to LA and I met Chance in high school. But we went separately to Korea and we met there. So I introduced Chance to Peter and I said lets make a group so we made the group.

Q: How would you describe each other in a sentence?
A: One word, random. But that’s in one word. In a sentence, One way one sound!

Q: Have you had any crazy fan encounters?
Chance: There was this one time that this young lady messaged me, "I think of you even when I use the bathroom". That was very shocking.
Young Sky: We had fans in the USA that actually took the "One Way" sign off the highway and gave it to us as a present.

Q: Is this your first time in Singapore and what have you heard about Singapore before you came?
Peter: It’s like my 3rd time in Singapore but it is our first time.
Young Sky: And before we came we heard that it was hot but lots of awesome food and restaurants around.
Chance: One thing that I heard was it is very clean. We were pretty stunned at how clean it was.
Peter: You guys have strict laws here to be honest but this works out right?

Q: What do you hope to experience this time in Singapore?
Chance: Fans welcoming us. That stuns me the most! This time we just wanna have fun and leave a good impression as musicians.

Q: Tell us more about your collaboration with 2PM’s Junsu.
Young Sky: I used to train in JYP Entertainment and I met Junsu there. But I left JYPE but we still kept our friendship for 5 years now. We still hang around and chill out, talk about music. He’s a great vocalist!
Chance: When we recorded Rainy Days, Junsu had a big interest in it. At last minute we needed his vocals and we just got him into the recording studio and made it happen.

Q: Any plans to act on television dramas or movies?
A: Well if we have the opportunity, yes.

And that summarizes the dialog at the One Way press session.

OneWay's Performance
Shortly after 7pm, an introduction of the event was made by the MC and the organizer, Miss Catherine and the event was then kick-started by a performance by OneWay with the song One Way! After which, they continued their performance with the songs, Wrong Number, Rainy Days and Magic.

10 lucky fans were randomly picked by ticket number to receive autograph items of One Way at intervals between their song performances!

After they sang the last song, encores were shouted out as they left for backstage. In response, the boys came out once again from below stage to perform B.O.B’s Nothin’ On You and Far East Movement’s Like A G6!

And that concludes their performance at Zouk. But the party's just began! With the stage departure of OneWay, fans got to club to favorite K-Pop music with the opening song, f(x)'s Nuabo!
